Dr. Britzke was born and raised in LaPorte Indiana. He graduated from LaPorte High School in 1992, and graduated from Marian College in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He then studied Medical Neurobiology at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Britzke received his O.D. (Doctor of Optometry) in 2002 from Indiana University School of Optometry. While attending Optometry school, he was an assistant instructor for the neuroanatomy class. In his third year was elected President of the Indiana University Optometric Student Association (IUOSA). His duties included serving as school representative at the Indiana Optometric Association state meetings, serving as board member at the American Optometric Student Association meetings, and served on the Dean's Advisory Committee just to name a few. In his last year of Optometry School Dr. Britzke has been an intern at many different offices such as Fort Knox, Kentucky. On his internships he learned much about diseases of the eye along with contact lenses and spectacles. He developed an interest in treating eye diseases, such as glaucoma, dry eye, and ocular allergies. He has always had an interest in specialty contact lenses due to the fact he is a current bitoric rigid gas pearmeable (RGP) patient.
